You made me love you without a choice.
My toes- they crinkled at the sound of your voice.
You dusted your fingertips over my mind; you taught it new words, new feelings blinked their eyes.
And then you made me hate you
by taking all that away.
I would spend days waiting for you, out in the rain.
You taught me that when I ask for love, I’ll never receive it.
And when you tell me you’ll change-
I’m always dumb enough
to believe it.
